Autostop opened its doors on Disraeli Street, Johnsonville in the 80’s, when the local mechanic was someone you knew by name. Almost 50 years later, we’re still here, still on Disraeli Street, and still building relationships with the people who trust us with their vehicles.
While our location and values have stayed the same, the automotive industry has changed dramatically. Modern cars are more advanced, more computerised, and require specialised knowledge to diagnose and maintain correctly.
Over the years, we have continued investing in technician training, modern equipment, and specialist capability – including advanced electronic diagnostics, European vehicle servicing, and the latest automotive technology.

A History Built on Experience
Autostop’s story began with fuel and a passion for fixing vehicles. The business started at the Mobil site, where selling fuel naturally led to repairing vehicles for local customers.
As the business grew, Autostop moved into larger premises adjoining the BP site on Johnsonville Road. In 1997, we purpose-built a new workshop beside BP, giving the business room to continue growing.
In 2017, Autostop moved to its current home on Disraeli Street, purpose-built to provide a larger workshop and accommodate modern vehicle repair technology.
Today, Autostop continues to operate as an independent local workshop, building on decades of experience while keeping up with the technology found in modern vehicles.
